New chairman

mark_kershawFollowing his recent appeals, our president, David Bradnock, is pleased to announce that Mark Kershaw has agreed to become Chairman of the National Trust Solihull Centre. He will be co-opted on to the committee (subject to the approval of the committee) at the September meeting and take on the role of acting Chairman until formally elected at the Annual General Meeting in April 2016.

Mark and his family are long standing members of the National Trust. Mark recently retired from the broadcasting industry, spending many years with the BBC producing programmes such as ”Gardeners World” and coverage of the “Chelsea Flower Show”; latterly as a freelancer he has directed some of the Proms Concerts for television. Mark is a JP and is currently Deputy Chairman of the Solihull and Birmingham Bench.
