The next annual general meeting of the National Trust Solihull Centre will be held at 7.30 pm at the Oliver Bird Hall on Tuesday 26 April 2016.
This Annual Lecture is in memory of Charles Lines, a well-known and respected local historian, speaker and author who helped launch the National Trust Solihull Centre 33 years ago. It is the main fundraising event arranged and run by the Evening Meetings team. All profits go to selected National Trust projects. In 2014 we made £368 profit of which £71 came from the raffle.
Unfortunately the advertised speaker, Bernard Pumfrey, has had to pull out because of health problems. However, we are pleased to announce that our new chairman, Mark Kershaw, will speak on “The BBC Proms, their History and how they are Broadcast”.
Tickets at £7 per head will be available at the entrance to the Oliver Bird Hall.
It is several years since we have held a carol service so we have arranged one this year at St Michael’s Church, Baddesley Clinton.
The service will be followed by mince pies etc. in the restaurant at Baddesley Clinton.
Tickets £9 from Mrs Pat Pope, 21 Thorneyfields Road, Shirley, Solihull B90 3HP. (Please enclose a 10 X 4 s.a.e.)
