Felicity Simpson – Committee Member

We are very sorry to announce that NT Solihull Centre Committee member, Felicity Simpson, has died after a short illness. Felicity had been a stalwart of the Centre for many years and was a leading light as part of the organising team of the successful Afternoon Talks.

She was interested in the National Trust, in the NT Solihull Centre and most of all in people.

One of my lasting memories of Felicity was her helping out at the first Teddy Bear’s Picnic in 2016, realising the need to encourage the next generation to be interested in the Centre. Alongside is not a very good photo of Felicity (far right of picture) enjoying being part of that day, handing out leaflets and talking to the young parents.

She will be sorely missed.

Sunday walk from Studley

Our Centre morning walk on Sunday 6th August  was from Studley to Sambourne and back on a warm and pleasant morning.

The crops were waist high and due for harvest but the village green at Sambourne was immaculate and our twenty seven walkers took advantage of the seats provided for their half way break.

Our next walk will be from The Swan at Nether Whitacre on Sunday 3rd September.
