Packwood gardener retires

Kitchen Garden Opening postcardJohn Richardson the hugely talented gardener at Packwood House has retired. John was responsible for the renovation of the kitchen garden at Packwood House, turning it literally from a bomb site into a wonderful kitchen garden commensurate with all of the original features of the garden.

The National Trust Solihull Centre donated over £4,000 to the project and provided the dipping pool and all the pathways around the kitchen garden. Our president, David Bradnock, formally opened it a year or two ago along with the then chairman Bryan Headford.

In the photograph, David is shown cutting the ribbon at the dipping pool with Bryan, together with John, who constructed it, and Mick the head gardener.
